I saw Flammkuchen on the menu and had to stop in for lunch. Flammkuchen is a Swiss spin on pizza, with an ultra-thin crust, cream sauce and bacon and onion topping. The version served here seemed to miss the cream sauce, or it all got cooked off in the oven, so I'm going to call it a miss. Also, Riesling is the traditional accompaniment, but no Riesling available by the glass. My husband had wiener schnitzel. It was quite good-not greasy, tender, crisp breading. And the potato salad was great! Fresh dill peps up a light salad with potatoes, cucumbers and onions. Service was slow but friendly.

Everything that can be wrong about a restaurant was wrong with this bistro. The service was terrible - the host was gloomy and our waitress was absent. She didn't refill our water or inform us about anything on the menu - I had to ask specific questions to get anything out of her. I had to flag her down to get her to come to our table. When she gave me the check, it was twice as much as it should have been - she had rung it up wrong. She only corrected it when I mentioned it. The menu was limited and the prices were ridiculous for the quality and amount of food we received. My grilled cheese was Kraft cheese in between two slices of white bread - edible but by no means tasty. The place was quiet and had an awkward and uncomfortable ambience. I will NOT be returning.

I must say the view was gorgeous. The food was good. I got the mushroom streusel and apple Streusel for dessert. The staff there is not good. I never saw my waitress. It took a long time to get my check.

Terrible service. Staff unskilled at serving more then one table at a time. Server never came to our table. He would drop a check at another table and then go back to kitchen area. Drop food at different table and go back to kitchen. Then kept ignoring us to go clear plates at a third table. Apparently not possible to take our order and then clear plates and bring back out our drinks. Disappointing. Manager brought the three of us water and after ten minutes asked her if we could place our order. Drink order even. Restaurant was out of mayo so couldn't make Chicken Salad, one of four sandwich choices. Disappointing. We ended up leaving without eating. Servers need to learn to consolidate their steps of service. Would give it zero stars if I could.

I was not "wowed" by this place although the location is fabulous. We had a decent waiter, but I did notice that the manager did check on other tables and not ours. Maybe our bicycle getups didn't look up to par?? It was lunch and it is the summer? Food was average and service was a bit slow. It was very nice sitting on the outdoor deck. I may try it again but certainly won't go out of my way.

My 2 starts are for the waitress who was very attentive and prompt. It just goes downhill from there. My salmon pizza was dry and well just blah! I was hoping for a satisfying lunch, but that didn't happen. I would have ordered something else, but then again...why keep spending $$ on other food that may not taste great. Know what I mean? Don't get the salmon pizza. It's just gross.

We had lunch here and the only person who wasn't disappointed had a salad. It would appear that's the thing to get if you pop in for a bite. I won't say, "quick bite" as that appeared to be out of the realm of possibility for them. Very slow and sloppy service in a completely empty jam the day we were there.

Very slow service. Food was ok, but nothing to write home about. Add this to my been there, done that, won't be back list.

The Alpenhof Bistro is way over priced, to say the least. You can pay half of this, and get double the quality of food. The server though, was very nice, and was trying her best to get our food out in less than an hour. Sadly, that didn't work out. Again though, she was very kind, and that is why this gets 2 stars over 1.

Had breakfast at the bistro, as we were staying at the hotel. Food was not good and service was slow and unreliable. Had to ask specifically for items that are listed as coming with the meal on the menu (like breakfast potatoes). Coffee cup was dirty - had lipstick marks on the edge. Even though breakfast is included in the room charges, I wouldn't eat here again.

The food is ok. Don't waste your time (or money $9) on the apple strudel. It wasn't worth it.

A great choice for lunch when you are skiing at JHMR, much better than most of the other cafeteria like options on the mountain. When we are skiing this is our go to restaurant and if they have it I always get the butternut squash soup and one of their salads. They have a large seating area and friendly wait staff which is great if you want to regroup the family for a midday lunch.

We went to the Alpenhof for lunch. We had a pretty pathetic pretzel that was drenched in butter and salt. The Hofbrauhaus could teach them a thing or two about properly done beer soaking pretzel. My wife had the Minestrone and I had the Veal Bratwurst. The Brat had a solid roll, good kraut and nice grainy mustard. This place was decent. But, I'd rather try the dining room for dinner as the menu looks great.

I had lunch at the Alpenhof Bistro and was very disappointed. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the side salad was fresh and the service good. I had the beef pastie. It was horrible. I should have been suspicious when they brought A1 sauce with it! The pastry was hard and tasteless. On the inside were hunks of tough beef and potatoes that were raw! No sauce whatsoever on the inside. I would not try this place again.

Visited in September. Bad service, overpriced, small portions, so-so food. The flies in the place outnumbered the guests...not too smart to keep an unscreened door open all of the time.

Man- Yelp's listings for the Jackson area need some work. The Alpenhof property has a downstairs dining room that serves formal meals- the Bistro is the upstairs spot for lunch and apres ski. We had a GREAT apres ski experience here- $30 for bitching fondue, and wise cracking trio of accordion playing musicians and some frosty local brews. AWE-some. Make sure you schedule this in when you visit the Jackson Hold Mountain Resort for skiing or what not.

Find the Alpenhof alpine inn in the center of town next to the lifts-you can't miss it. Upstairs is their bar/bistro for apres ski- cheese fondue is $20 and not too huge, but the atmosphere is so cozy and nice with live country/folk music and more room for a group to gather 'round a table and relax by a roaring fire... You'll find far better behaved tourists here than at other options. A touch of Tyrol in the Teton village- super nice.
